What to prepare:
A notebook and a pen to help you freely draw out your feelings. Journaling, also known as writing meditation, is an effective way to face yourself and organize your thoughts. For this, I chose PERPANEP, which lets me choose my favorite kind of paper to write on.
Relax your mind before writing:
Journaling is simple. Set a time (say, 5 minutes before bed) and write down whatever comes to your mind. The best part of journaling is that you can be completely open and honest with your feelings, no matter what they are. The important thing is to keep your mind relaxed while writing.
3 steps for journaling:
- Be mindful of yourself in this very moment.
- Listen to your true voice
- Write them down and face them
When you are able to repeat these steps, look back at your entries and reflect on how your emotions have changed.
By paying attention to your emotions, whether happy, tired, sad, or aggressive, you will surely discover something new about yourself.
